Foundation
La fondation “Institut Pasteur du Laos” a été créée suite à la décision du Conseil d’Administration de l’Institut Pasteur du Laos en date du 9 mars 2018
Cette « Fondation Institut Pasteur du Laos » a été pensée comme un outil permanent assurant la pérennité de l’Institut Pasteur du Laos.
Elle a pour objet de de soutenir les activités de recherche sur les maladies infectieuses menées par l’Institut Pasteur du Laos au travers du financement de projets de recherche, de salaires de chercheurs, techniciens, et personnel de support laotiens, de charges de fonctionnement et d’investissements de l’Institut Pasteur du Laos.
Cette fondation est placée sous l’égide de la Fondation de France. Son capital doit pouvoir augmenter par l’abondement de nouveaux mécènes souhaitant soutenir les activités scientifiques du Laos.

For the 3rd consecutive year, the Fondation Institut Pasteur du Laos has awarded a research grant (Young Researcher Grant Award) to encourage a young Lao scientist to develop, coordinate and execute an innovative research project. The selection committee of the “Young Researcher Grant Challenge 2025″ met on 30th of July 2025 to examine the applications received. The committee decided to support, for a total amount of 40,000€, the project prepared by Dr. Tiger Soulaphy, from the Medical Entomology laboratory of Institut Pasteur du Laos, entitled: “Post-release assessment of Wolbachia establishment and dengue virus circulation in field mosquito populations in Vientiane, Lao PDR”.
On 12th of July 2024, the Young Researcher Grant Challenge 2024 was attributed to Dr. Chittaphone Vanhnollat for his project entitled: « Uncovering hidden pathogens: virome characterization of bat-infesting arthropods in Laos ».
The Awardee of the Young Researcher Grant Challenge 2023 is Mrs. Somsanith Chonephetsarath for her project: “Arboviral detection of cave-dwelling hematophagous insects in Lao PDR”
