IPL Job vacancy announcement for project manager for epidemiology programs (March 15th, 2024)

Institut Pasteur du Laos (IPL) is a Lao National Institution under the Ministry of Health. IPL has received a mandate to fulfill activities of public service: Research and diagnostic on emerging infectious diseases and vector borne diseases / Training, Education and Capacity Building / Technical assistance for investigation of epidemics.

IPL is currently looking for a:

PROJECT MANAGER FOR EPIDEMIOLOGY PROGRAMS

RESPONSIBILITIES

– Under the supervision of the head of the group/ Principal Investigator of the project, he/she will be in
charge of the coordination of two research and public health projects;
– He/she will be in charge of the supervision of epidemiology-related field activities of the two projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential qualifications

MD with master’s degree in public health or a PhD degree in
Epidemiology
Good level in English (written and oral)
Fluent in Lao
Speaking French would be an asset

Skills

Highly motivated to develop himself/herself in the field of project management, epidemiology, and data
management and analysis
Good knowledge of Microsoft office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, …)
Mastery of statistical analysis methods (linear and logistic regression, etc.) and statistical software (e.g., R,
Stata, etc.)
Hard working and excellent sense of organization and communication
Good sense of diplomacy

Experiences

Experience in the field or project management in relation with epidemiological studies.
Experience in field studies and data analysis.
